Growing up in various countries, Jamie witnessed firsthand the pervasive inequities within communities and their impact on the quality of education. Her diverse educational journey, spanning a private school in Saudi Arabia, a Catholic school in the Philippines, and public schools and universities in California, provided her with a unique perspective on the factors that influence a student's success. She realized that success often hinged on the availability of resources, which were often limited to specific groups. These experiences inspired Jamie to commit to a purpose-driven life that goes beyond her own interests, motivating her to make a positive impact on the lives of others, especially in under-resourced communities.

Jamie is a believer in the incredible impact that comes from communities coming together and people taking action at a local level to create meaningful change. With over three years of dedicated nonprofit experience and a strong commitment to volunteer work, she has voiced her support for women's rights, women's career advancement, accessible reproductive healthcare for all, and providing essential resources to underserved communities. Her successful efforts include engaging with policymakers, fostering meaningful connections, and orchestrating advocacy events. Jamie is enthusiastic about leveraging her expertise and skills to advance the out-of-school time sector, striving to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the youth across California.

In her spare time, you'll often find Jamie singing her heart out at concerts, exploring new restaurants, searching for vintage treasures at estate sales, and going on trips with her husband (usually to discover new places to eat). Additionally, she finds joy in crafting polymer clay jewelry and art, playing board games with her loved ones, and watching shows about food and crime as she unwinds.
